It’s Monday, Nov. 14 and looks like a cloudy day with a slight chance of rain. Here are five things to know in Montgomery County.
1. Council President Briefing: Council President Gabe Albornoz will hold a media briefing today at 11 a.m to preview Tuesday’s Council meeting, which will include Council interview and vote on the appointment of Dr. Kisha Davis to the Health Officer position and action on the gun carry legislation and establishing a property tax credit for first responders. The briefing will be streamed on the Council’s Facebook page here.
2. Winter Recreation Programs: Registration opens today for county recreation programs and activities.
3. Municipal Monday: The Gaithersburg Mayor and Council meet tonight at 7:30 p.m for an executive work session. The agenda packet may be found online here. The Kensington Town Council meets Tuesday at 7 p.m. The Town Commissioners of Poolesville meet at 7 p.m. with the meeting streamed on YouTube. The Rockville Mayor and Council meet at 7 p.m. for a regular session. The agenda and information may be found online.
4. FY24 Budget Forum: County Executive Marc Elrich is holding a series of hybrid budget sessions to seek input from residents about the Fiscal Year 2024 Operating Budget priorities. Tonight’s forum is the first of eight community forums and takes place at the Mid County regional Services Center from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Registration is requested.
5. Party With a Purpose: Montgomery Community Media invites you to our fundraiser and cocktail reception, “A Party with a Purpose” on Wednesday, Nov. 30 from 6-9 p.m. at the Silver Spring Civic Center. Here are 5 things to know about Party With a Purpose:
