1. Donate a Bike Day: Montgomery County’s Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will host its annual Bicycle Donation Drive on Friday, Oct. 11, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Rockville. Through the Rockville Terrific Kids program and the MCDOT Bike Match program, donated bikes will be given to children and adults in need.

3. Gaithersburg Oktoberfest: Celebrate at the annual Oktoberfest on Sunday, Oct. 13, from noon to 5 p.m. in the Kentlands.
4. Board of Education Candidate Forum: The Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Washington will hold a Board of Education candidate forum on Sunday, Oct. 13, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at Congregation Beth El. Submit questions in advance and register to attend here.
5. Salgado’s Haunted Trail: A Germantown family is inviting the community to visit “Salgado’s Haunted Manor” throughout October. This free haunted trail features fog machines, strobe lights, animatronics, and eerie sound effects. MCM spoke with the family on opening night—take a look.
