Today is Friday, Oct. 15 and here are five things to know in Montgomery County.
1. Lunch with a Recruiter: Learn about the positions the Montgomery County Police Department is looking to fill. Officers from the Bethesda police district will be at the Westfield Montgomery Mall food court from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The mall is located at 7101 Democracy Blvd in Bethesda.
2. Free Flu Shot Clinic: Montgomery County is offering a free flu shot clinic from 2-6 p.m. at The Universities at Shady Grove in Rockville. Appointments are recommended, but walk-ins are accepted. Seasonal flu shots are also available through private health providers, as well as retail locations throughout the county.
3. NIH Philarmonia Concert: The NIH Philharmonia orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Nancia D’Alimonte, presents their “Its About Time” concert today and Saturday at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Rockville at 7:30 p.m. Masks are required.
4. Fall on the Farm: Learn how a typical Montgomery County farm family at the turn of the 20th century prepared for the winter as the fall harvest comes in. Fall on the Farm takes place Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. at the Agricultural History Farm Park in Derwood. There are numerous activities planned including hayrides, candle and soap making, music, and more.
