It’s Monday, Oct. 31 and here is the 10-day weather forecast. Here are five things to know in Montgomery County.
1. Council President Briefing: Council President Gabe Albornoz will hold a media briefing today at 12:30 p.m to preview Tuesday’s Council meeting. Temporary Acting Planning Board Chair Jeffrey Zyontz and Acting Planning Director Tanya Stern join Albornoz for the briefing, which will be streamed on the Council’s Facebook page.
2. Election: Early voting continues today through Thursday at 14 centers throughout the county, which are all on Ride On bus routes for anyone needing transportation. The centers are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Montgomery County residents who are eligible but not yet registered to vote may do so at any early voting center in the county, just be sure to bring proof of residency. To check wait times at your closest voting centers, text EV and your zip code to 77788 (or download the mobile app). 3. Happy Halloween: Be careful driving as trick-or-treaters will be knocking on doors in neighborhoods across our county tonight. Children are more than twice as likely to be hit by a car and killed on Halloween than on any other day of the year, according to Safe Kids Worldwide. The county offers safety tips.
4. Dog Adoption Event: Today is the last day of the Montgomery County Animal Adoption Center’s program that waives the adoption fee for dogs. Learn more here.
5. Health Insurance Open Enrollment: Open enrollment begins tomorrow for Maryland Health Connection.
