1. Walk and Roll: Today is Walk and Roll to School Day.
2. Test Alert: At 2:20 p.m., the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will do a national test of its emergency alert system. All wireless phones should receive the message only once.
📢On Wednesday, October 4 at 2:20 pm, @fema will conduct a test of the national emergency alert system on cell phones, wireless devices, radios, & TVs.
This is a standard test that occurs at least once every three years. No action is needed.

3. Takoma Park City Council: At 7:30 p.m., the Takoma Park City Council will have a public meeting in the auditorium at the Takoma Park Community Center. The meeting can be viewed on YouTube, the City Council video webpage, Facebook, or City TV. Residents can also register online to watch via Zoom or to make a comment during the meeting. 4. Food Resources: See food giveaway events today in Montgomery County.
5. ICYMI: Colin Vale, a 32-year-old Olney resident, donned safety glasses and protective clothing as he aimed his chain saw down deep into the branch of a Linden Oak tree that had called Montgomery County its home for the past 300 years.
