1. New Bus Line Connects Tysons to Bethesda: Transurban announced Thursday that the Fairfax Connector’s newest line will run from Tysons, Virginia, to Bethesda. Rout 798 officially starts today.
2. Council President Briefing: Council President Andrew Friedson will hold his weekly media briefing at 11:30 a.m. today. He will discuss the Attainable Housing Strategies Listening Sessions that he hosted with Montgomery Planning and councilmembers in Silver Spring and Wheaton. 3. Council Committee Meetings: Committees will review the Freedom to Leave Act, Building Energy Performance Standards, an Office of Legislative Oversight report on newly permitted housing units and 2024-2028 Growth and Infrastructure Policy. The meetings take place at 9:30 a.m., 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. All Council committee meetings are open to the public, broadcast live on County Cable Montgomery, and streamed live on YouTube. 4. Fiscal 2026 Community Forum: Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich will hold the second of 11 public forums tonight at 7 p.m. to discuss the fiscal 2026 Operating Budget priorities. Tonight’s forum is at the Wheaton Community Recreation Center.
