5 Things to Know Today, Sept. 17, In Montgomery County

1. Council Meeting: The county council will meet today starting at 11 a.m. with a proclamation recognizing Opioid Awareness Month. The meeting will be livestreamed here.

2. Red Line Night Track Work: Through Friday this week, after 10 p.m. Metro trains will be single-tracking between Van Ness and Friendship Heights for leak repairs. See more about planned Metrorail track work here.

3. County Survey: The county encourages residents to participate in a new survey aimed at assessing local government services and overall quality of life. Residents have until Monday, Sept. 30 to complete the survey. It is available in eight languages, including English, Spanish, Chinese, and Amharic, here.
