3. MCPS Sporting Events: New rules go into effect at Montgomery County high school athletic competitions today. A large brawl broke out at last week’s football game between Northwest and Gaithersburg and the school district hopes the new rules will prevent this from happening in the future.

4. Step Workshop for Teens: BlackRock hosts this class for youth between the ages of 12 and 17 on Saturday, Sept 24 at 10 a.m. Stepping is a percussive dance form in which the participant’s entire body is used as an instrument to produce complex rhythms and sounds through a mixture of footsteps, spoken word, and hand claps.

5. Weekend Community Events:
The 31st Annual Burtonsville Day Parade and Festival features live music, food trucks and activities for children takes place Saturday, Sept. 24. The parade begins at 10 a.m. and departs from Paint Branch High School.
The 6th Annual Wheaton Arts Parade and Festival takes place Sunday, Sept. 25 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and features over 50 local artists, organizations, performances and family activities.
