1. Red Line Stations Reopened: Four Metro Red Line stations that were closed for three months are now open: Glenmont, Wheaton, Forest Glen, and Silver Spring.
2. Bus-Only Lanes Continue: The bus-only lanes along Georgia Avenue that were created when five Red Line stations were shut down for three months will remain through at least December.

4. Thea LaFond: Silver Spring’s Thea LaFond recently traveled to her birth country Dominica to celebrate her Olympic gold medal victory — the first-ever Olympic medal for the island nation in the Caribbean.
