1. Election Results: The county Board of Elections finished counting election ballots and then certified the results from the May 14 primary election Friday at 8 p.m.

2. Council Recess: The county council is currently in recess and will return to regular business in June. Last week, councilmembers approved a $7.1 billion operating budget.

3. Food Drive: The county transportation department and Manna Food Center are hosting the 31st Annual “Give and Ride Food Drive” until Saturday, June 1. Residents can donate non-perishable food items on any county Ride On bus or at designated drop-off sites. Bus riders who donate will have their fare waived.
