6th District Forum Ends With Candidates Pointing Fingers, Parrott Exiting Stage

As the Frederick County League of Women Congressional District debate between Democrat April Delaney and Republican Neil Parrott drew to a close, the two candidates became testy.

They pointed fingers at each other while appearing to have a heated exchange before Parrott briefly walked off the stage.

During his closing remarks, Parrott asked, “What about the lies you put out on me on your mailers?” Delaney replied, “Not lies. Not lies. They are not lies.” Parrott countered, “They are lies, and you know it.”

Parrott then added, “All you do is just attack me.”

When a woman from the League of Women Voters began speaking about the upcoming election, Parrott returned to his seat. The two candidates spoke with each other and ended the event shaking hands.

The debate was held at Hodson Auditorium on the campus of Hood College in Frederick.
