Voter turnout was the highest in Montgomery County on the first day of early voting Oct. 24 when 23,450 residents turned out.
The turnout was slightly lower on the second day when 22,323 residents cast votes, according to the Montgomery County Board of Elections.
The trend downward continued as 14,353 ballots were cast Saturday and 12,983 were registered Sunday.
Altogether between Oct. 23 and Oct. 27, 73,109 county residents have already voted. As of the end of April, there are 680.831 registered voters here.
The busiest early voting site differed each day. Residents are allowed to vote at any of the county’s 14 early voting sites, but they can only vote at their specific polling place on election day.
On Sunday, the top three most popular sites were Wheaton Library and Community Recreation Center, followed by Potomac Community Recreation Center and Germantown Community Recreation Center.
On Saturday, the third day of early voting, the three most visited sites were the Activity Center at Bohrer Park, Silver Spring Civic Center and Jane E. Lawton Community Recreation Center.
On the second day of early voting, the Germantown Community Recreation Center, the Activity Center at Bohrer Park and the Potomac Community Recreation Center had the most voters.
The highest turnout on the first day occurred at the Potomac Community Recreation Center.
Early voting ends Oct. 31.
