Police said a Gaithersburg woman has been arrested and charged with killing her boyfriend.
Jennifer Abigail Espinoza Orellana, 21, is charged with second-degree murder for the homicide of Jose Manuel Zavala Marquez, 20, according to the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD).
According to MCPD, police responded to Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center at about 5:51 a.m. Sunday for a reported male who was dropped off with trauma to his body.
Police stated that Espinoza Orellana had an argument with Zavala Marquez — who was her boyfriend — at her home in the 8000 block of Shady Spring Drive in Gaithersburg.
The argument continued outside, and police said Espinoza Orellana allegedly stabbed her boyfriend in his chest with a knife.
She put him in her vehicle and dropped him off at the hospital, according to police, where Zavala Marquez was pronounced dead.
Police said an autopsy will be conducted to officially determine a cause and manner of death.
A search and seizure warrant executed at Espinoza Orellana’s home revealed evidence, per MCPD. She was arrested and charged with second-degree murder, according to police. She is being held without bond.
