Fall cleaning is underway at county public parking garages.
The semi-annual cleaning of garages in Bethesda, Silver Spring and Wheaton started Monday, per a release from the Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT).
The interior washings will happen nights and weekends, starting first with Bethesda this month and ending with Silver Spring on Saturday, Nov. 4, according to MCDOT. Some garages will have partial closures while the cleanings occur. A schedule of cleanings is available online.
MCDOT does spring and fall washdowns to clean the 21 county-owned parking garages, prevent deterioration, and keep grease, oil and debris out of waterways.
Contractors will do their best to post signage and work around traffic, per MCDOT.
