Blair High School Receives Bomb Threat Friday

Update at 9:25 a.m.: Montgomery Blair High in Silver Spring received a bomb threat early Friday morning. As of 9:25 a.m., police had cleared the building and gave Blair administration the to all-clear to resume classes.

Montgomery Blair High in Silver Spring received a bomb threat early Friday morning.

Principal Renay Johnson sent a message to the Blair High School community early Friday.

“Montgomery Blair High School has received a bomb threat this morning. Montgomery County Police are at our school with school security. Students and staff will not be permitted to enter the building until we receive the hall-clear directive from the police. Students and staff on campus have been evacuated to outside. areas. You will be updated as more information becomes available.”

Local officials — as well as officials all over the world — are on high alert Friday after calls for “a day of rage” by a former leader of Hamas, the militant organization responsible for the terrorist attacks in Israel that have left more than 1,000 dead including at least 14 Americans.
