Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police continue to investigate a fatal accident that occurred on Monday at the intersection of Columbia Pike and Blackburn Road in Burtonsville.
For reasons still to be determined, a white 2019 Ford Escape was stopped in the southbound lanes of Columbia Pike. A driver in a black 2010 Toyota Corolla hit the back of the Ford, which sent both vehicles through the intersection.
In an updated press release, police identify the deceased passenger in the Toyota as Bridget Corcoran-Martin of Westhampton, NY. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Drivers of both vehicles were sent to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
