Local fire and rescue units from Montgomery County, as well as from other jurisdictions, are helping out in Baltimore City on Friday as a funeral is planned for a Baltimore firefighter who died.
Rodney Pitts III died after battling a fire this month in Baltimore. His funeral is Friday at the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen.
Lt. Dillon Rinaldo also died from injuries sustained during the fire.
Fire departments in the metro area are providing personnel and equipment to cover fire stations in the City of Baltimore, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer.
The Hillandale Volunteer Fire Department is backfilling a Baltimore City fire station on Friday, the volunteer department shared.
