Six new members were inducted into the Montgomery County Sports Hall of Fame in a Sunday evening ceremony at the Silver Spring Civic Building.
The 2023 class featured soccer player Joanna Lohman (Springbrook), basketball player Tracy Jackson (Paint Branch), football coaching legends Jim Fegan (Georgetown Prep) and Gaithersburg’s John Harvill (posthumously), tennis player Harold Solomon (Springbrook) and ESPN sportscaster Scott Van Pelt (Sherwood).

Several county high school athletes who had previously been named MCM high school athletes of the week were recognized.

Councilmembers Gabe Albornoz, one of the driving forces of the hall of fame, and Andrew Friedson were in attendance. The show was hosted by MCM Director of Content Joe Yasharoff and journalist Kelsey Nicole Nelson.
