County Executive Marc Elrich has endorsed Prince George’s (PG) County Executive Angela Alsobrooks (D) for U.S. Senate.
“She has a passion for our residents and she brings strength and skill to the job,” Elrich wrote in a statement shared by Alsobrooks. “She understands the importance of worker rights and the need for a decent wage and its importance to a healthy economy. We need her advocacy and leadership in the U.S. Senate.”
Alsobrooks stated she is grateful for the support: “County Executives know how to get things done and I am excited to work with Marc in the Senate to deliver for Montgomery County and all of Maryland,” she stated.
Maryland Gov. Wes Moore and Montgomery County Councilmember Will Jawando recently announced their support for Alsobrooks. Jawando had been a Senate candidate but recently dropped out. U.S. Sen. Chris Van Hollen has also endorsed Alsobrooks.

Other candidates for the seat include Ray Bly (R) of Howard County, Marcellus Crews (D) of Prince George’s County, Juan Dominguez (D) of Anne Arundel County, Lorie Friend (R) of Garrett County, Brian Frydenborg (D) of Silver Spring, Steven Henry Seuferer (D) of Montgomery Village and Andrew Jaye Wildman (D) of Carroll County.
