In the state 4A quarterfinal game against B-CC, Churchill stuck to their familiar game plan. Give the ball to David Avit early and often. The senior running back — who came into the game with over 2,000 yards rushing on the season — responded with 199 yards rushing and four touchdowns leading the Bulldogs to a 27-13 home win over B-CC. Churchill (11-1) advances to the state semifinals for the first time since 1995.
B-CC finishes the season 7-5.
As the 3rd quarter comes to an end it’s Churchill 27 and BCC 0. Avit scores for the 4th time with less than 50 sec left in the 3rd. @mymcmedia @CHSBulldogsFB @BCC_Barons @mpssaaupdate pic.twitter.com/1evw1SZI5i
