A taxi driver was robbed while working this week in the Viers Mill area. Montgomery County Police say it happened on May 12 around 7:50 p.m.
After further investigation, detectives found that the Riatero taxi service driver arrived at the 2100 block of Glenallen Avenue in Glenmont to pick up a customer who requested to be taken to the 12400 block of Connecticut Avenue in the Viers Mill area. While in the car, the male suspect asked the taxi driver to stop at the intersection of Fairly Street and Feldon Street. That’s when police say the suspect stole a container with taxi service proceeds, and fled from the vehicle.
The male suspect was last seen on foot near Fairly Street. Police have released a surveillance video and would like help from the public in identifying him .
