A 300-year-old Linden Oak tree has been transformed into a bench.
Artist Colin Vale unveiled the sculpture last week. It sits at Ken-Gar Palisades Local Park in Kensington.
The tree was taken down this year due to failing health, according to Montgomery Parks. It was located at Rockville Pike and Beach Drive. Experts believe the champion tree stood since the nation’s founding, according to Parks.
