Montgomery County leaders held a virtual media briefing Wednesday to give a weekly COVID-19 update.
County Executive Marc Elrich was joined by county Health Officer Dr. Travis Gayles and county Emergency Management and Homeland Security Director, Dr. Earl Stoddard.
The prerequisites for gradual transition from Phase 1 of reopening to Phase 2 were the main topics of discussion.
“I want to caution folks at home… when we’re looking at how we move from Phase 1 to Phase 2 – we’re going to need to see more significant decreases in the number of our new cases because we want to alleviate as much as the virus as possible in our communities,” said Dr. Travis Gayles.
