An updated county executive order has ordered the closure of the Wheaton Train and Carousel and Cabin John Train.
“We are hoping we can open up in the fall but for now they are closed until further notice,” said Montgomery Parks Spokesperson Melissa Chotiner.
Wheaton Train and Carousel and Cabin John Train are temporarily closed while we await guidance from Montgomery County’s health officer on the operation of the train and carousel.

The revised executive order, effective Aug. 5, calls for amusement parks, including stand-alone carousels, and venues such as bowling alleys, escape rooms and go-cart tracks to shutter. In an attempt to slow the spread of COVID-19, the directive also requires restaurants and bars to stop serving alcohol after 10 p.m.
In a statement posted to the Montgomery Parks website, the department said they were waiting on guidance from the county’s health officer.
The Wheaton Train and Carousel and Cabin John Train initially opened for the season in July with updated hours and safety guidelines.
