1. Mobile Market:The Universities at Shady Grove’s Mobile Market free food distribution is back from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today. Stop by the room G318 on the ground floor of the Biomedical Sciences and Engineering Building, bring your grocery bags, and pick up some food. The market welcomes all volunteers, sign up here if interested in helping. Participants can park in lot 2 at no cost. The market will move indoo0rs to Room G318 in the Biomedical Sciences and Engineering Building inclement weather.
2. Municipal Monday: The Gaithersburg Mayor and Council meet at 7:30 p.m. for a regular session. The agenda and agenda packet are available online. The Rockville Mayor and Council meet at 7 p.m. with this agenda. Residents may attend either meeting in person or virtually.
3. An Evening with Bao Phi: Award-winning author and poet Bao Phi will discuss his work as a children’s author and poet at the Gaithersburg Library from 6 to 8 p.m. The event is part of the libraries’ contemporary conversations. Free, register to attend online here.
4. Virtual Career Workshops: The Commission on Women hosts a series of career workshops during May. The topics for the remaining two virtual workshops include building your brand, and wage negotiation.
