Police responded to two fatal collisions between the late hours of Monday night and early hours of Tuesday morning: one in Potomac and another in Cloverly.
The Montgomery County Police Department said it received a call around 10:51 p.m. on Monday reporting a single-vehicle, single-occupant fatal collision in Potomac on River Road near Luvie Lane.
The vehicle hit a utility pole and caught on fire, according to a tweet from Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service spokesman Pete Piringer. Route 190 between Dalyn Drive and Travilah Road closed for the investigation.

Following a call around 12:19 a.m., the police department said detectives responded to another single-vehicle, single-occupant fatal collision in the Cloverly area.
The incident happened near the 15700 block of New Hampshire Avenue between Briggs Chaney Road and Spencerville Road, according to a tweet from Piringer, and resulted in a damaged utility pole.
Police reported around 7 a.m. that the preliminary investigation had been conducted and no roads were closed related to the collision.
