Dawson’s Market in Rockville Closing Next Month

Dawson’s Market grocery store in Rockville Town Square is set to close next month.

Despite offering an active calendar of events like wine tasting and cooking classes, the closure will come at the end of June, according to reports.

In 2018, Dawson’s was temporarily closed before reopening under the current ownership. At that time the City of Rockville gave the struggling market financial support so it could remain open.

According to Rockville Nights, the space was never designed to accommodate a grocery store and is probably too small to attract other grocery chains with larger footprints.

Dawson’s closing adds more space to be filled by the current Canadian owners who already need to rent out former locations like American Tap Room, CVS and Gordon Biersch.

Dawson’s Market is located at 225 N. Washington Street in Rockville Town Square.
