A funeral service for the Maryland Parole and Probation officer killed in the line of duty will be held June 22 at the Living Word International Christian Church, 16819 New Hampshire Avenue, Silver Spring.
Agent Davis Martinez, 33, was killed when he responded to the 2800 block of Terrace Drive in Chevy Chase to conduct a resident check on Emanuel Edward Sewell, a registered sex offender.
When Martinez, a six-year employee of the Maryland Department of Public Safety & Correctional Services did not report back to work, agents went to that address and found his body, which had multiple injuries.
Sewell was arrested and has been charged with Martinez’s death.
A wake will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m.
