Montgomery County Police continue investigating a fatal hit-and-run in Takoma Park.
According to police, on June 3 at 1:17 p.m., Takoma Park Police officers and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue personnel went to the 1100 block of University Boulevard East following a report of a man lying in the road with head injuries.
The victim, who police still have not named, was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. A medical examiner determined his injuries were likely caused by a vehicle.
Following an investigation, police determined that a car being driven westbound hit the pedestrian. The driver then fled into Prince George’s County.
The suspect’s vehicle is believed to be a 1999 to 2006 black Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Extended Cab pickup truck. Any damage to the vehicle would be found on the left side and would probably to be minor.
The victim is described as a Hispanic male, 30 to 40-years-old, 5-feet, 9-inches tall, weighing 150 pounds and sporting a short goatee. He is believed to have been wearing a light blue t-shirt and dark blue sweatpants.
