1. MC311 Phone Service Closure: MC311 phone service will be closed on Friday, June 14, from noon to 7 p.m. Residents can use the MC311 online service to learn about county services and submit service requests.
2. African American Living Legends: The county will honor six African American community leaders at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 14, at the BlackRock Center for the Arts in Germantown as part of the county’s 27th annual Juneteenth celebration. The award ceremony is open to the public and free to attend.
3. Summer Reading Challenge: The libraries annual summer reading program kicks off Friday, June 14. Children, teens, and adults may sign up for the challenge online or at any library branch.

4. 2nd Annual Scotland Juneteenth Heritage Festival: Numerous activities are planned from June 15 to June 19 to honor the 80 historic Black communities that once flourished in Montgomery County. Members of the Scotland community are spearheading the celebrations. A fireworks display will take place on June 19 at the Shirley Povich Field in Rockville.
