Allen Price Jr., 45, of Gaithersburg was sentenced to 45 years in prison for shooting his wife while her children were present in the home.
Maryland Circuit Court Judge Harry Storm sentenced Price on Wednesday. Price had pleaded guilty on Dec. 15, 2023 to second-degree murder and using a firearm in the commission of a crime of violence.
The Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office reported that Price shot his wife, Natasha Price, on Sept. 17, 2020, inside their home on Sandy Lake Drive in Gaithersburg. He then jumped out of their second-story window, where police later found him hiding in the woods.
Natasha Price was transported to the hospital and remained on life support until her death on Oct. 9, 2020.
During the investigation, authorities learned that Natasha Price had told friends and relatives she planned to leave her husband and cut him off financially.
“We aggressively prosecute domestic violence cases, and in this matter, we are thankful that the judge imposed a penalty above the Maryland State Sentencing Guidelines. The defendant fatally shot his wife while her children were present inside of the home. We express our deepest condolences to the victim’s family and share in the grief over this senseless loss of life,” said State’s Attorney John McCarthy.
