Katie Ledecky putting on a dominant performance is usually not surprising but when she wins an event by 20 seconds, it’s hard not to take notice. Ledecky won the 1500 meters, her signature event, at the Olympic Swim Trials in Indianapolis Wednesday by more than half a lap. Katie Grimes finished a distant second.
Ledecky’s time, 15:37:35, was the fastest in the world this year and the 15th fastest ever. Ledecky now owns the 19 fastest times ever in the 1500 meters.
The Olympics begin in Paris on July 26.
