Residents have at least two opportunities to celebrate Independence Day with fireworks.
Germantown Glory will be held Thursday, July 4 at 7 p.m. at South Germantown Recreational Park, 18041 Central Park Circle.
Then on Saturday, July 6, Mid-County Sparkles will kick off at 6 p.m. at Albert Einstein High School, 11135 Newport Mill Road, Kensington.
“Montgomery County is pleased to continue its yearly Independence Day celebrations,” said Executive Marc Elrich. “These events are more than just fireworks; they are a chance for our community to come together, celebrate our shared values, and appreciate the freedoms we enjoy.”
Added Montgomery County Recreation Director Robin Riley, “The yearly celebration is a perfect opportunity to enjoy quality time outdoors with family and friends. We look forward to celebrating with you.”
Germantown Glory features a concert by Central City Orchestra. On-site parking is available.
Mid-County Sparkles features music by Joe Falero and Downtown Sound.
Parking is only available on-site for individuals with disabilities. Free parking and shuttle service will be provided starting at 5:30 p.m., from Westfield Wheaton, 11160 Veirs Mill Road. Follow directional signs for event parking and shuttles.
Fireworks at both events begin at about 9:15 p.m.
Lawn chairs, blankets and cookers are permitted. There will be food vendors at both locations. Alcoholic beverages and pets are not permitted.
