Heat Advisory Tuesday and Wednesday

The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a heat advisory for the county along with other parts of the region for Tuesday and Wednesday from noon to 8 p.m.

There was also a heat advisory Monday. Heat index values are expected to be up to 105 degrees Tuesday and up to 110 degrees Wednesday, according to NWS.

The county also activated a Hyperthermia Alert for extreme heat Tuesday, according to the county’s Emergency Management and Homeland Security.

The county offers safety tips for hot weather including staying indoors whenever possible. Residents are urged to never leave pets, young children, or elderly people in a car for any amount of time even with an open window. The temperature in a parked car can reach 130 degrees in just a few minutes.
