Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) extinguished a small fire in the intensive care unit room of Suburban Hospital, located at 8600 Old Georgetown Road, around 7 a.m. Monday. Officials stated that an electrical issue caused the outlet fire.
No injuries or additional medical needs were reported. MCFRS teams are working to remove smoke from the building before hospital staff resumes normal operations.
