The Maryland Department of Health on Wednesday recorded 87 new COVID-19 cases in Montgomery County. That brings the cumulative case count since the start of the pandemic to 20,190.
With a lower rate than 15 of Maryland’s 24 jurisdictions, the county had a rolling seven-day average of 2.72% for positive COVID-19 tests.
Montgomery County has led the state in coronavirus-related fatalities, but no new deaths were reported since Monday, so the pandemic total remains 782. Prince George’s County, however, has led the state in coronavirus infections with a current count of 26,428.
The state recorded 456 new infections Wednesday, bringing its total to 109,319. Six new deaths were reported, making the pandemic death toll 3,623. Baltimore, Dorchester, and Worcester Counties all recorded one new death. Prince George’s County reported three new deaths.
Maryland’s seven-day rolling average for test positivity was 3.36%.
