1. Tax-Free Week: Maryland Tax-Free Week continues through Saturday. The state will suspend the 6% sales tax on clothing and shoes under $100 or on the first $40 for backpacks.
2. Council Recess: The county council is in recess and will return to regular business in September.
3. County Fair: The fair continues through Saturday in Gaithersburg.
4. Food Resources: See food giveaway events today in the county.
5. ICYMI: Last week, police and residents participated in National Night Out at numerous locations across the county. In downtown Silver Spring, police and local leaders joined residents for an event on Ellsworth Drive.
