Former contestant on ABC’s The Golden Bachelor Joan Vassos is on the cover of the most recent issue of Entertainment Weekly (EW). Vassos made an impression during her short run on the show before having to abruptly leave to help her daughter who was having complications with her pregnancy (both mother and child were okay).
In May, the Rockville resident – who lost her husband of 32 years John to cancer in 2021 – was named the franchise’s first Golden Bachelorette which will debut Sept. 18 on ABC.
She tells EW that she did not hesitate to say yes when offered the gig. “I did go into Golden Bachelor a little nervous. I didn’t know how they were going to depict us. I didn’t know the producers. Now I know what good hearts they have. They’re trying to help us find love, and they’re not trying to make us look foolish, like, ‘Look at the older people dating.’ So, I was very trusting coming into this, and I really wanted it.”
Dignity, kindness, and just the right amount of senior sex appeal — that's what viewers can expect from #TheGoldenBachelorette. Read our latest cover story to get ready for Joan Vassos’ second chance to find her next great love: https://t.co/Hfk7U3s8wS
