Police Investigate August Stabbing at Montgomery College Cultural Arts Center

Police said a man was stabbed last month during an argument at the entrance of the Montgomery College Cultural Arts Center on Georgia Avenue in downtown Silver Spring.

According to county police, at about 2:20 a.m. on Aug. 29, a male suspect argued with the 77-year-old victim over property. It escalated and the suspect stabbed the man in the forehead and left the scene. The victim was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

Police released surveillance footage and describe the suspect as “a Black male, in his twenties or thirties, with short black locs, wearing a black shirt, a long gray scarf, light colored pants, a watch and black shoes, and armed with a folding knife.”

Police ask anyone with information to give a tip by calling 1-866-411-8477 or visiting the Crime Solvers of Montgomery County website and clicking www.p3tips.com. Police say tips leading to arrest may be eligible for a reward from $250-$10,000. Tips can be anonymous.
