2024 General Election U.S. Senate
Maryland voters will elect a new U.S. Senator in 2024 to replace Sen. Ben Cardin (D-Baltimore), who is retiring after three terms. Cardin, Maryland’s senior senator, has served since 2007.
U.S. Senators are elected to six-year terms, with no term limits. Maryland’s junior senator, Chris Van Hollen, will remain in office until his next re-election in 2028.
This election will play a key role in shaping Maryland’s future representation in the U.S. Senate.
Election Day: Nov. 5
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Early Voting: Oct. 24-31
There will be 14 early voting centers across Montgomery County.
