Montgomery County Police officers are investigating a fatal crash that occurred Wednesday before 8 a.m. in the area of Norwood Road and Nesbitt Farm Lane in Sandy Spring.
According to police, a 17-year-old female driver collided with a wooden light pole and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two passengers were taken to an area hospital and are in critical condition. The injured occupants are both 17 years old. One is male and the other female, according to police.
Norwood Road was closed during the investigation but has reopened.
