Rockville to Hold the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light The Night

The City of Rockville will hold the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light The Night event on Saturday, Oct. 5.

Light The Night celebrates, honors and remembers those touched by blood cancers by gathering the community to bring light to the darkness of cancer, according to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The community’s funds contribute to lifesaving research, advocacy and support for blood cancer patients and their families, according to the Society’s website.

The event will be held at the Rockville Town Center with festivities from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. A walk of approximately one mile will begin at 7 p.m., finishing off with a laser show at 8:30 p.m.

Those interested need to register to participate in Light The Night. Registered participants will receive a lantern at the Lantern Tent, according to the Society. Children 12 years old or younger do not need to register but must have an adult with them to receive a lantern.

The Society said participants will be able to donate digitally at the event but cash and checks will not be accepted.
