Local Cosmetics Business Collecting Donated Products for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

As October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a Germantown-based business is collecting beauty products to donate to local cancer support centers and survivors, per a release.

Bluffajo Cosmetics launched the “Clean Out Your Beauty Closet” initiative this month.

The skincare and makeup brand is part of the Maryland Women’s Business Center (MWBC) Shop Local retail business incubator program, and donations of gently used or new beauty products can be donated month-long at the MWBC Shop Local Rockville Town Square location at 36D Maryland Ave. On Sunday, Oct. 27 there will be face-painting for kids from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

“The beauty we use on our skin matters, especially for those dealing with serious health challenges like breast cancer,” said Bluffajo Cosmetics founder Maisie Dunbar in a written statement. “This initiative is our way of giving back and helping women feel empowered, beautiful, and safe in their beauty routines.”

Also as part of the initiative, there will be workshops for those affected and Bluffajo Cosmetics will partner with cancer organizations to give clean beauty care packages to those affected.
