Friday, Oct. 25

Haunted House
Silver Spring

The recreation department will host a haunted house at the Long Branch Community Recreation Center from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Wear your costume and bring your Halloween spirit. Light refreshments will be provided. This event is appropriate for all ages and free to attend. Learn more and register here.

Treat Stops
Gaithersburg

Downtown Crown will host this event from 5 to 7 p.m. Look for the “Treat Stop” ghost in store windows and stop in for a treat. Please take caution when walking and crossing streets. This is a free event. Learn more here.

Ghouls Just Want to Have Fun Dance
Wheaton

Teens and adults with disabilities, ages 15 and up, can enjoy a DJ, dancing, games, pizza, and other refreshments. Dress in costume for the annual Halloween dance, held at the Holiday Park Senior Center from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Admission is free with preregistration. Saturday, Oct. 26

Diwali Storytelling Followed by Diya Craft
Germantown

Listen to the story of Diwali, the Indian festival of lights, and then decorate a Diya. Priyanka Upadhyay will present this event, recommended for ages 3 and up, at the Germantown Library from 11 a.m. to noon. This event is free. Learn more here.

Trick or Treating at the Museum
Gaithersburg

Visit the Gaithersburg Community Museum for Halloween crafts and trick-or-treating fun. This drop-in event features self-directed themed activities from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. Learn more here.

Zombie Walk Dance Party
Silver Spring

Zombie fans, get ready for the Silver Spring Zombie Walk! Due to construction, the event will be a Zombie Gathering & DJ Dance Party at Ellsworth Plaza. Join in the fun from 8:30 to 10 p.m. Afterward, head to the Quarry House Tavern for the after-party or catch a screening of Shaun of the Dead at AFI Silver. Learn more here.

Halloween Cupcake Decorating Class
Takoma Park

The People’s Book will host a kids’ cupcake decorating class from noon to 2 p.m. Doron Petersan, founder of Sticky Fingers and two-time Cupcake Wars champion, will lead the class. Pics in the Park Halloween Edition
Boyds

Holiday Crafts & Treats Fair
Silver Spring
