Organizers for Rockville Bike Party Strive for ‘Building Community Through Cycling’

Cyclists and families alike are welcome to join Rockville’s first-ever bike party this Saturday, organized by the Rockville Bike Advisory Committee. Regardless of age or skill level, residents are encouraged to explore the city by saddle and learn about bike-friendly initiatives.

“We will be showcasing the importance of building community through cycling,” said the RBAC.

Starting at the Twinbrook Community Recreation Center at 4:30 p.m., RBAC leaders will guide the group through various routes and neighborhood streets.

The ride is estimated to be between four to eight miles, with “surprise pit-stops” along the way.

The RBAC also encourages riders to wear non-impeding costumes and decorate their bikes in honor of the Halloween spirit. Additionally, bikes should have front and rear lights, as the event will likely end around sunset. Riders are required to wear helmets at all times as well.
