Several members of the County Council were present at an event in Rockville to honor veterans on Wednesday. MCM asked them to share their thoughts on the Presidential Election. Here’s what they told us.
When questioned at his weekly media briefing, County Executive Marc Elrich made the following remarks about the election:
“Gore Vidal once referred to this nation as the United States of Amnesia. And I bring this phrase up today because I remain baffled on the results of last night after the chaos and division of the first Trump term that culminated with an attack on our democracy, including an attempt to overthrow the government. It is hard to believe that people have forgotten about that or continue to think it didn’t happen. I said many times in this media briefing that I believe the Biden-Harris administration is the most productive and successful for American working families since FDR.”
