Mail-In Ballot Canvass Continues in Germantown

The canvass for mail-in ballots continued Thursday in Germantown. It was the first day of canvassing post-Election Day.

The canvass is the process during which bipartisan teams review the returned ballots before they are counted. The review includes checking to ensure the ballot was on time and that the voter signed the oath.

It is open to the public at the Montgomery College Germantown campus. Residents can also watch via livestream. The schedule as well as livestream links are on the county Board of Elections website. According to the schedule, Saturday is the next tentative day for canvassing.

The race for the District 6 Congressional seat between April McClain Delaney (D) and Neil Parrott (R) is still tight. According to the latest unofficial results, Delaney leads Parrott by 348 votes.
