2. Montgomery Parks Wood Sale: The fourth annual Montgomery Parks Wood Sale runs Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to noon. Woodworkers, furniture makers, and craft enthusiasts can purchase salvaged wood from county parks.

3. Flu Vaccination Clinics: Free flu vaccinations are available for anyone aged six months and older at these locations:

  • Saturday, Nov. 9 – 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Dennis Avenue Health Center, Silver Spring. Make an appointment here.
  • Saturday, Nov. 16 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Dennis Avenue Health Center, Silver Spring. Make an appointment here.

4. Beall Avenue Asphalt Art Celebration & Dedication: Rockville will celebrate its Beall Avenue Asphalt Art Project with a street festival from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, at Gibbs and Beall streets. Enjoy family activities, meet the artists, and participate in a Chalk Riot activity. The project was funded with a $25,000 Bloomberg Asphalt Art Initiative grant and support from Rockville’s Art in Public Places program.

5. Veterans Day:  Monday is the federal Veterans Day holiday. County and municipal government offices will be closed in observance. See the list of closures for Montgomery County, Gaithersburg, and Rockville.
