After President Donald Trump was discharged from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center Monday evening, where he was treated for coronavirus, County Executive Marc Elrich tweeted a message to the president:
As you celebrate, we are thinking about the over 210,000 Americans, and over 800 of our neighbors, lost to COVID. Fear didn’t take their lives—COVID did.

“As you celebrate, we are thinking about the over 210,000 Americans, and over 800 of our neighbors, lost to COVID. Fear didn’t take their lives—COVID did,” Elrich tweeted.
As of Tuesday, 210,239 Americans have died of the coronavirus, 850 of whom lived in Montgomery County.
Since the president was discharged, he has continued making claims contrary to the CDC, undermining the threat of the coronavirus.
