1. Supermoon: The last supermoon of the year reaches peak illumination today around 4:29 p.m. near sunset. It’s the fourth supermoon fo 2024. In 2025 three supermoons are expected, starting in October.
This will be the year’s fourth and final supermoon, looking bigger and brighter than usual as it comes within about 225,000 miles of Earth on Thursday.

3. Cover the Cruiser: Rockville City Police will host a fundraiser today for Special Olympics Maryland. Stop by Rockville Town Square from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to make a donation.
4. Book Signing: “Dork Diaries” authors Rachel and Nikki Russell will hold another book signing this Saturday at 1 p.m. at Barnes & Noble in Gaithersburg.
4. Sergent Kepp Update: Last October, Montgomery County Police officer Patrick Kepp was seriously injured while apprehending a reckless driver. After a year of rehabilitation, MCM recently caught up with Kepp to hear his story.
And One More Thing: The county is holding a free flu vaccination clinic Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Dennis Avenue Health Center in Silver Spring. Make an appointment here.
